How We Started

Tahoe Mountain Bike Patrol: The Story Behind Us

This volunteer-led patrol group was started in 2001 by Nevada State Park Ranger, Bill Champion, for Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park (LTNSP). His primary goal was to put eyes and ears on the trails of the park, mainly the Marlette Flume Trail and Tahoe Rim Trail. Today, we are a stand-alone non-profit 501c3, and while we still patrol trails at LTNSP, we also cover trails all along the Eastern front of the Carson Range. Last but not least, we love supporting events in the park with hikers, bikers, and equestrians.
